Yes you can reach an ideal healthy body weight and become stronger and more energetic! 

It's no fun being tired, overweight or the victim of food cravings or nagging health problems.

Having a lean, healthy body and tons of energy is within your reach, but it doesn't just happen by accident.  

Being healthy, fit and looking great is an outcome, a consequence that naturally flows from a series of health producing cause-and-effect relationships, most of which you control 100% through your diet, nutrition and lifestyle.   

Eat and live in a way that encourages continuous health building  reactions in your body and you become healthier and more vital.  

Eat or live in a way that interferes with those natural health building reactions and being tired, overweight and in less than excellent health is predictable and expected. 

In days gone by it was easier to make healthy choices, but a lot of things have changed since your great grandparents were your age and those changes have a profound effect.

Beware The Curse Of Common Knowledge 

The first step to lose weight, keep it off and become fit and healthy is to overcome the curse of common knowledge.   

Some people are so convinced they know everything about a subject they're closed off to new information or ideas that don't fit their picture of things. 

Most "common knowledge" on weight loss is simply wrong.  

It's profoundly bad, incorrect information that leads you astray and is, in some cases, laughably absurd to anyone who understands the basics of human metabolism. 

Low fat snacks and sugar free drinks are perfect examples.  

You Probably Know Someone Who Makes This Mistake 

Many believe low fat snacks and sugar free drinks are healthy, or at least helpful for weight loss.  But is this true?  

All low fat snacks are rich in carbohydrates.  In fact every 5 grams of carbohydrate you swallow gives you the metabolic equivalent of swallowing a full teaspoon of sugar. 

Question: How can a food be sugar free and still be loaded with sugar at the same time?  How can this be?

Answer: A carbohydrate is by definition nothing but a bunch of sugar molecules linked or "chained" together.  

  • Carbohydrates are not technically sugar anymore than a house is technically a pile of lumber.  But, like a house made of brick and wood, carbohydrates are made entirely of sugar molecules chained together to form a sugar-chain. 

  • When the chain links holding the simple sugars together are broken as you digest the food, the simple sugars are released, blood sugar goes up and the result is exactly as if you were eating sugar right out of the sugar bowl.  

  • Read the labels and you'll discover that a single serving of most low fat, sugar free diet foods, snacks and desserts contain between 30 to 50 grams of carbohydrate, which is the metabolic equivalent of 6 to 10 teaspoons of sugar.  

Is there any possibility that getting 6 to 10 teaspoons of sugar in your system could help you lose weight... even if the food is low fat and sugar free? 

Remember...   

 0 sugar + 30 grams of carbs = 6 teaspoons of sugar

As you come to a more complete understanding of how protein, carbohydrate and fat affects metabolism you eventually realize that low fat, sugar free diet food is in fact some of the most fattening food ever made! 

No wonder it's so difficult to lose weight relying on common knowledge and following popular advice. 

It's almost mind boggling.  We do our best and try our hardest to do what's right.  I guess the truth is, what you don't know... can hurt you. 

Confusion about low fat and sugar free food is just one example of how common knowledge is commonly wrong and how following it leads you in the wrong direction.  

The diet industry really is littered with bad advice.  How else could we spend six billion a year on weight loss and every year end up more overweight as a nation than ever?

There are two biggest obstacle to losing weight and building a great looking healthy body; 1) cutting through the hype that litters the weight loss industry, and; 2) finding a course of action that is scientifically sound and you can actually do. 

Store shelves bulge with products designed to manipulate one narrow aspect of health while completely ignoring the fact that your body is a fully integrated system.

Diet pills, weight loss shakes, weight loss cookies, celebrity diet plans and all such silly products almost never produce lasting results because they're designed to force a result by short-cutting natural processes.

Even liposuction, surgically removing fat from the body,  fails to produce lasting results because surgery attacks the symptom, (fat), and ignores the cause of being overweight. 

Attacking a symptom and ignoring a cause is the perfect prescription for failure and exactly why most approaches to weight loss don't work or don't last.
